Some of you who know me probably know that my oldest daughter is spending the summer in a foreign country. Being that she's my oldest, this is the first time I've had to "let go." Sure she's spent a few weeks away from home at her grandparents' house and summer camp, but not two months across an ocean! She gaining independence, learning about a different culture, and understanding how good we really have it in the United States! I'm going through the process of adjusting to life, minus one child, and filling my time so that I don't dwell on the missing piece of my family puzzle. I know that I'm not alone, every parent has to let their children try their wings at some point, but it doesn't mean it's easy. Our job as parents are to prepare them for life. I can only pray that we've done our jobs to the best of our ability. One quote reads, "Sometimes love means letting go, when you want to hold on tighter." -Author unknown. So very true.
